Work is now underway at the Hughenden Centre to refresh the main hall and create a doorway from the kitchen to the counter to enable easier access for servers. Painting is being carried out in the very early mornings so regular bookings can continue as normal.
A scaffold tower will remain in one corner of the hall until basecoats on the walls are complete. To help the doorway work finish safely and quickly, a small number of sessions have been cancelled at short notice. We are sorry for any inconvenience and grateful for everyone’s understanding.
In the Foodbank Store, the ceiling is being painted ahead of the Weston College and King’s Trust group painting the walls from 21 to 23 October.
What hall users need to know
Sessions should run as scheduled while painting happens early in the day
A small number of sessions have been cancelled at short notice so the doorway work can be completed safely
A scaffold tower will stay in place in one corner until basecoats are finished
Please do not move or use the scaffold; the area will be barriered and signed
Why this matters
These upgrades will brighten the hall and improve serving from the kitchen to the counter, making the space more welcoming and efficient for everyone who uses it.
Thank you
Thank you to Andy for leading the painting with care and flexibility, to Phil for stepping in to help on site, and to Steve the builder for working long hours to keep the project moving. All your work is greatly appreciated.
