A Season of Provision, Progress and Partnership: Prayer & Praise - February to April 2026

As we look back over February, March and April, we are thankful for the steady ways God has continued to provide and guide at the Hughenden Centre. Alongside practical progress, we have also seen encouraging signs of creativity, teamwork and new possibilities for the life of Weston Ark.

Below are some of the key things we want to thank God for, followed by ways you can join us in prayer.

Praise: Reasons to Give Thanks

1. Provision for the Outdoor Project

We are very thankful for a £5,000 grant from the Screwfix Foundation towards outdoor improvement works at the Hughenden Centre.

This does not complete the whole vision for the outside space, but it gives an important starting point, and we are grateful for God’s provision through it.

2. Practical and Creative Progress in the Centre

Phil has done valuable creative work in the hall, helping shape the Centre into a warmer and more welcoming space. Together with Matt, he completed the beach hut wall, which has brought colour and character to the hall.

It has also been especially encouraging to see the King’s Trust students playing their part in this work. Some helped Phil by painting within the marked designs on the beach hut wall, including the seagull detail, while others helped by de-palleting wood and removing nails for the prayer wall.

There has also been welcome practical progress elsewhere in the building, including the new loos now being up and running. We are thankful for these improvements, both creative and practical, as the Centre continues to develop. A special thanks again to the Benefact Trust for the £4,000 towards the toilets refurbishment.

Diana has now completed the Ark of the Covenant mural, and we are thankful for the creativity and care that is helping shape the character of the Centre.

3. Partnership and Shared Witness

We are also thankful for the growing sense of partnership around the life of the Hughenden Centre. A significant Open Doors event is coming up, with the Nigerian and Indian churches taking part, many Weston-super-Mare churches being represented, and the Open Doors South West Co-ordinator speaking.

We are grateful for opportunities like this, which reflect the wider Christian fellowship connected to the Centre and the way the Hughenden Centre can serve as a place of gathering, encouragement and witness.

4. New Possibilities Ahead

Alongside the practical work, there have also been encouraging conversations about future food provision, and the possibility of mentoring, resilience support and Christian teaching at the Centre.

Nothing has been finalised, but we are thankful for these early signs of what may be developing.

Prayer Points: Looking Ahead in Faith

1. The Outdoor Project

  • Please pray for Tim and Charlie as they consider what meaningful work can be completed within the Screwfix grant.

  • Pray for wisdom and good stewardship, and that this will be a strong beginning for the wider outdoor project.

2. The Life of the Centre

  • Please pray for all those involved in improving the Hughenden Centre, through practical work, painting and creative features.

  • Pray that it will become an increasingly welcoming and hope-filled space for the community.

3. Future Ministry

  • Please pray for wisdom around food provision, and for discernment around any future mentoring, resilience support and Christian teaching.

  • Pray that any opportunities pursued will be timely, helpful and well led.

4. Those Carrying Responsibility

  • Please pray for Lin Thomas as she steps into Stacey’s place and takes on added responsibility.

  • Please also pray for Stacey, and for all those serving within Weston Ark, that they will know wisdom, strength and encouragement.

5. The Roof and Next Steps

  • Please pray for wisdom and provision following the recent roof damage at the Hughenden Centre.

  • Pray for the right advice, the right remedy, and a timely solution, and that all involved will have clarity as they consider both immediate repairs and any wider decisions arising from this situation.

Thank you for standing with Weston Ark in both praise and prayer. Your support and intercession remain a valued part of what God is doing at the Hughenden Centre.
