As we look back over May, June and July, we are thankful for the steady ways God has continued to guide Weston Ark at the Hughenden Centre. These months have included careful planning, practical decisions, and further steps towards making the Centre a place of welcome, support and hope.
Below are some of the key things we want to thank God for, followed by ways you can join us in prayer.
Praise: Reasons to Give Thanks
1. The Prayer Corner
We give special thanks for our trustee, Diana Thomas, and for all the work she has done to prepare the Prayer Corner at the Hughenden Centre.
This is becoming a very special part of the building - a quieter space set aside for prayer, reflection and encouragement.

2. Ark Café and Practical Support
We give thanks for the continued development of the Ark Café and for the volunteers helping to shape it as a place of welcome.
There has been helpful discussion about opening times, use of the space, and how the café might connect people with practical support, including Citizens Advice referrals and Advice First Aid training.
3. Food Provision and Hot Meals
We are thankful for the continuing development of food provision at the Hughenden Centre. There has been ongoing work around low-cost food support, and the Tuesday hot meals offer has also begun to take shape, with Mel Bray stepping into leadership and others offering support. We are grateful for the compassion, experience and practical commitment being brought to this work, and for the desire to serve local people with dignity and care.
4. The Outdoor Project and Wider Vision
We give thanks that the vision for the outside space at the Hughenden Centre continues to develop. The hope is to create a more welcoming and accessible outdoor area that can support café life, children, families and wider community use. Trustees are continuing to consider the best first steps, so that any work carried out now helps prepare the way for the larger vision in the future. We are thankful for the provision already received and for the opportunity to keep moving forward prayerfully and wisely.

5. Worship, Resilience and Good Foundations
We are also thankful for signs of future ministry taking shape, including monthly worship and plans for a Resilience Course later in the year.
Alongside this, important behind-the-scenes work continues, including safeguarding, DBS checks, risk assessments, café procedures, building decisions, and planning for a dedicated Ark Café device for Citizens Advice-related work. These foundations matter as Weston Ark grows and seeks to serve safely, wisely and well.

Prayer Points: Looking Ahead in Faith
1. Ark Café and Food Provision
Please pray for Lin, Mel and Gerry and all those involved in the café, food provision and hot meals planning.
Pray for wisdom around timing, volunteers, kitchen readiness and the right model of support.
2. The Outdoor Project
Please pray for wisdom as trustees consider how best to use the Screwfix grant towards a meaningful first stage.
Pray for clarity, good stewardship and future provision for the wider outdoor vision.
3. Building Needs and Practical Decisions
Please pray for wisdom around the remaining building needs, including the roof and lighting.
Give thanks for the kitchen works completed by Matt Luft, and pray that all practical improvements at the Centre will continue to support safe, welcoming and effective use of the building.
4. Safe and Wise Growth
Pray that Weston Ark will continue to grow safely and wisely, with good foundations in place as the work develops.
Ask God to guide all those serving behind the scenes, so that the Centre remains a place of welcome, care and trust.
Thank you for standing with Weston Ark in both praise and prayer. Your support and intercession remain a valued part of what God is doing at the Hughenden Centre.
