We are delighted to celebrate the tangible steps forward that have been made in recent weeks:
Our Vision Takes Shape: Following a very productive meeting with our architects and a recent trustees' meeting, we are thrilled to announce that the core principles for the refurbishment of the Hughenden Centre have been agreed upon. The first priorities have been set, and we are excited to share that the initial phase of work - including the new, more accessible hatchway from the kitchen and the base painting of the main hall -is scheduled to begin very soon. This is a major milestone in turning the dream into a reality.
Our Team is Growing! We are overjoyed to welcome new volunteers to the Weston Ark family. A warm welcome to Phil Rawlin, who has already offered to lend his skills to the painting of the main hall and to join the Ark Café team. We are also delighted that Stacey Jones has agreed to lead the establishment of our new community café. It is a blessing to see our team grow with such dedicated and willing hearts.
A Wonderful New Partnership: We are excited to be partnering with a group of young people from Weston College, who are taking part in a community project as part of The King's Trust Team Programme. In mid-October, they will be volunteering their time and energy to paint the Foodbank's storeroom. We are so grateful for this partnership and the community spirit it represents.
Prayer Points: Looking Ahead in Faith
As we continue to build, we are deeply reliant on your prayerful support. Please join us in praying for:
Our Hirers and Partners: Please pray for the ongoing process of finalizing the new licence agreements with the wonderful community groups who use the Centre. Pray for clarity, smooth communication, and for these agreements to be a foundation for strong, positive, and long-lasting relationships.
Provision and Resources: We are in the process of writing and submitting several grant applications to secure the necessary funding for the refurbishment and the new café. Please pray for favour with funders and for the provision of all the resources needed to bring the vision for the Hughenden Centre to life.
Our New Volunteers and the Ark Café: Please pray for Phil, Stacey, and all our new volunteers as they settle into their roles. Pray especially for Stacey as she takes on the leadership of the Ark Café project - for wisdom, creativity, and for her team to come together. Pray that the café will become a warm, welcoming space for everyone in our community.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Your support, in prayer and in so many other ways, is the foundation upon which all this work is built.
